MobileNet Services has an experienced team of engineers and technicians that are ready to deploy and support projects nationwide. We have the tools, capacity, and knowledge to perform field testing, site surveys and data collection.

DAS Testing

MobileNet has performed DAS benchmark testing for over 4,000 high profile venues such as airports, stadiums, hotels, amusement parks, universities, and business parks, to provide coverage scanner data and throughput data for pre-design analysis and post launch of a new iDAS/oDAS network. Through innovation and observation, we’ve designed a customized backpack to carry the test kit and antenna for optimal agility and ease of walking a multi-floor venue. Our walk test teams are fully supported with backend live data validation by a RF engineer post processing the data throughout walk to assure accuracy in testing and to promptly notify the customer of onsite issues making MobileNet the first choice in DAS testing.

DAS Commissioning and Integration

Implementing a neutral host DAS as an OEM, DAS integrator or a building owner requires the party to validate the complete installation of the DAS infrastructure. It is not only the validation of DAS elements and remote units, but also includes a review of the system configuration diagram, the layout of the fiber and coax cable routing, the RHU/RAU locations, antenna placements, PIM measurements, Optical Loss Testing and end-to-end signal continuity. This process has been defined as The 5 Step Process and is a required certification for some carriers.

MobileNet’s certified DAS commissioning team can help you achieve flexible, cost-effective in-building wireless coverage with our insight on next generation solutions. Our hands-on experience and knowledge in design requirements, allows us to troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise on site in minimal time for maximum cost savings. In addition, MobileNet DAS commissioning engineers are certified by approved DAS OEM vendors such as Corning, CommScope, SOLiD, JMA/TEKO and ADRF. Leveraging our industry partnerships with OEMs makes MobileNet your first choice in having a successful deployment.

CW Testing

Continuous Wave (CW) testing is an effective solution to evaluate and select the optimal site location for a tower, small cell or indoor DAS and is an essential step in building an RF propagation model for design. CW testing is also required by most zoning boards to aid the assessment of newly proposed locations and is applicable for all technologies: 3G, LTE and 5G. Assessing the suitability of a site location requires the data to meet coverage requirements and have minimal interference. For candidate selection or verification, the actual height and location (Lats & Long) should be used when setting up the CW antenna. For propagation model tuning the test sites should be distributed within the test cluster and at a height that represents a typical site location.

MobileNet has combined years of CW testing best practices with our design knowledge to develop an efficient and effective process in setting up CW test equipment and delivering accurate data collection. Our teams have supported CW testing from coast to coast and can conduct rooftop, tower-mounted, or crane tests. MobileNet owns CW transmitters, omni-directional antennas, receivers for all frequency bands along with tripods and pneumatic masts which are essential for agility in the field and quick deployment.

Site Surveys

A site survey is vital to network planning and design. Our teams of expert technicians and engineers have meticulously completed site surveys for RF Design, Small Cell feasibility, Wi-Fi Hotspots, and Site Audits. A survey can begin with documenting the physical complexity and challenges of the site location, identifying the various materials used in construction on a building or pole, or collecting RF signal penetration to meet coverage goals. Post survey redline changes will be made on original CAD files, construction drawings, or floor-plans. Clear and professional photo audits complete the survey package to provide the details necessary for site selection or design attributes. Let MobileNet be your boots on the ground for site survey needs!

Macro Drive Testing

Collecting and post-processing Macro RF performance & benchmarking data is essential for optimization and identifying issues within the network. MobileNet has driven more areas, more extensively, and more frequently than our competitors and has built a reputation on the reliability and consistency of our data collection. Mobile network testing varies depending on the type of analysis the carriers request.

  • Site Shakedowns: Shakedowns are performed to ensure a site is functioning properly. Functional testing includes voice and data tests (SINR & RSRP) performed close to the site on each sector, testing fall back mechanisms and ensuring that the site orientation is correct.
  • Pre – Launch Optimization Drives: Performed to assess a newly-built network and to effectively uncover issues by providing detailed RF measurements to detect improper parameter settings or network faults prior to the launching on air. This ensure that sites pass all predefined evaluation criteria set by the carriers.
  • Post – Launch Optimization Drives: Performed after a site is launched to monitor the performance of the site.
  • Handover Testing: Performed to test handovers between different sectors, sites, RNCs, BSCs, frequencies and technologies.
Wi-Fi Testing

Internet connectivity is so important to consumers, that it’s not uncommon for them to select a destination or method of transport based on the cost and quality of the Wi-Fi Internet access. Combining this increased demand for bandwidth with providing a positive experience for their customers, a business owner or general manager must decided the best way to deal with poor performance and frustrated customers. Call on the RF specialists! A Wi-Fi speed test can confirm a problem with your internet connection, but it will not provide coverage analysis which is essential data for large venues that provide Wi-Fi to customers, such as hotels, transportation depots and convention centers. MobileNet can provide reliable and accurate planning and performance data to enable you to deploy the most efficient and cost effective networks, improving profitability while enhancing performance and end user experience.
